How do you travel to Yeovil?

Over 1,200 local people have already completed a simple on-line travel survey since it started in mid-December.
-
The survey has been initiated by South Somerset Together, a partnership of 25 local organisations. Collectively they employ most of the people who work in the town.
The survey was due to end on 15th January, but has been extended to 31st January due to popular demand.
The information could benefit everyone in our town and the surrounding area by pinpointing where and when people need to travel and where opportunities exist to make it easier to travel by bus or by other means such as walking or cycling.
This information is even more important in light of current plans by Somerset County Council to cut bus routes.
The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and asks people why they come to Yeovil - for work, to access services (including training, shopping, etc) or if they are unable to currently visit Yeovil because of lack of transport.
Paull Robathan, Chairman of South Somerset Together commented: "It is really great that so many people have responded to the survey but with Christmas in the middle of our consultation period it is clear that not everyone who wanted to participate, has had the opportunity to do so.
"By extending the closing date to 31st January, we hope more people will tell us how they travel to Yeovil. The information will help us find viable alternatives to using a car for short journeys - saving people money and reducing congestion, carbon emissions and the growing need for parking space in Yeovil – making things better for everyone and the environment.
"It can also help bus operators identify the most viable routes, times and frequency for buses despite plans to cut current funding for buses. We want Yeovil to have a transport system that works for local people – something other towns of its size have achieved! So if you have not yet filled in the survey – do so now - this is your chance to help us make a real difference!"
