Local ingredients are used where ever possible as well as local independent suppliers, who like us rely and insist on quality.
We're also very proud to tell you that we have been awarded our second 5 Star Hygiene award. Although it doesn't guarantee food quality it does guarantee a 5 Star graded hygienic kitchen, bar and cellar. we've also been awarded this year (2011) our Cask Marque for all of you real ale buffs out there!
Booking a table to eat with us is always advised but not always essential.
All of our drinks are are premium quality as well, no cheap imitations! Served at the correct temperature and in the correct glass which all goes to help with the taste. If you're looking for hot drinks then once again we are able to satisfy your needs with freshly roasted, freshly ground (daily) Italian coffee or one of our selection of Twinning's tea or if you're feeling really naughty one of our luxury Cadbury's hot chocolate.
Our hotel has 8 bedrooms that are subtly decorated and have all the the facilities you'd expect - flat screen Freeview televisions, tea and coffee making facilities etc. Our rates start from just £42.50 per night, per room, bed and breakfast.
A brief history of the Pen Mill is that it's an old coaching inn on the A30 mid way between London and Cornwall. It was built in the early 1800's and has moved along with the changing times over the past 150 to 200 years. The field at the rear of the Pen Mill used to be the home of the original Yeovil Town Football Club or Petters United as they used to be.
