Wendy Green and Carol Crane from The Rosie Crane Trust are organising a Walk for Rosie, a Sponsored Walk in memory of Rosie, who lost her brave fight against leukaemia at the age of 23. The walk is in Ilminster on Saturday 28 September at 10.30. Registration is from 10.00 – 10.20 in the pedestrian area of the Swan Precinct outside Tesco, Ilminster. The long walk will be approximately 4.5 miles with a short walk of about 2.5 miles which is suitable for all the family and is 'buggy friendly'. Both walks have been risk assessed and are led by experienced Health Walk Leaders. Sponsorship forms are available from the trust website News or Events pages, by telephone, 01460 55120 and email, firstname.lastname@example.org, at Horton Post Office, Goose Lane, Horton and from Lanes Garden Shop, 17 Silver Street, Ilminster. Tesco are very kindly supplying bottles of drinking water for all those taking part in this event. All the money raised will go to The Rosie Crane Trust to support bereaved parents through their grief after the loss of a son or daughter of any age. Come and join us, everyone welcome.
The trust holds monthly drop-in sessions, on the third Saturday in the month in Taunton and the first Saturday in the month in Yeovil, it also offers a confidential 'listening ear' service where trained, volunteer bereaved parents answer the phone to other bereaved parents who need someone to talk to on 01460 55120, a befriending service and subsidised counselling for those in financial difficulty.
