    I am very suspicious indeed!
In these times especially we should be encouraging people into the town, whether for shopping or entertainment, and such a move can only drive people away.
I for one would like an independent accountant to look at the figures, don't forget that there is a large initial outlay, so will they be able to get the returns?
Remember this at the next elections, stop voting in people desperate to move trade to the outside of town and to Taunton or Street.

Ripping off ******s. When oh when is this country going to get real and stop ripping of the british public for just about everything from fuel to car parking to just breathing. Even the poles have given up and gone home - england is too expensive. Yeovil is loosing its way quickly because the council and landlords still think they are in the years 2001 to 2007. The recession is finaly here and they are still charging to much rent on properties which make it unviable to trade in. Now they want to put more parking meters in, probably because they are not getting revenues as everone parks for free in tesco's. More so they now have employed the rip offs in the form of jobsworth parking attendants. Yes i agree its a swindle parking, but more so at the cost of buisness. I say this - you want buisness back in yeovil, then you have to make it a place to invest. Free parking, low rates on all of the 29 buildings that are empty - not just a yearly lease but for 6 months, stop rating the quedam as high as it is. No wonder it is empty. Skoda left after one month. I guess they did not sell a car. So yes, i agree with the need to get rid of the parking meters, chuggers and also the so called hard up landlords. They are the people across the land that are not helping the reccesion. The longer their properties stay empty, it is enivitable that the internet will win over quicker. We need buisness back and quick. We need to give people incentives o come into the town and spend money. Parking meters is not the way. The council also needs to take the iniative, not just recoup some of its lost revenue by employing more meters. it hits buisness hard. I would love to start a buisness in yeovil, bu the hard facts are - the leases are set far too high to viably trade and you may aswell go oin the internet. Also what does this do to a town - its looking so run down and you are no sooner in there then you are home again.
please feel free to comment, i really find this issue stright forward and fascinating as a student of buisness.
