With the Queen's Diamond Jubilee fast approaching, a newly launched web page will act as a one stop shop for everyone planning to enjoy the occasion.

The four day weekend takes place from 2nd to 5th June 2012, and the new web page will be a hive of constantly updated essential information – from assistance with how to organise your own street party to information about the spectacular free music and fireworks event at Yeovil Recreation Centre.

The site will also feature a map showing all the various events that will be happening throughout the district. During the Royal Wedding in 2011, the people of Yeovil celebrated with knees-ups and street parties galore - check out the Royal Wedding street party gallery here!

Councillor Sylvia Seal, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture is encouraging everyone interested in the Jubilee to visit the web page. She says: "The Diamond Jubilee will be the ideal opportunity to bring communities together.

"Whether you are planning a large-scale event or a small street party we would like people to let us know so that we can include it on our map.

"This promises to be an exciting weekend in South Somerset with all kinds of events being planned. We are expecting around 8,000 people at the music and fireworks event at Yeovil Recreation Centre on the 2nd June, so that promises to be spectacular.

"The weekend will also create a lasting legacy when our Countryside team plant Jubilee Oak trees at Yeovil Country Park and Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve."
