South Somerset Citizens Advice based in Yeovil has just launched a new Big Lottery funded service offering advice by email.

This is part of a new initiative to reach out to isolated clients in the South Somerset area. It is anticipated that it will bring desperately needed advice to disadvantaged people working long hours, with caring responsibilities or living in the rural community who are unable to get to the bureau or phone during office hours.

The new service marks the beginning of a drive to expand digital services in response to increasing demands for online advice. It is staffed by a dedicated team which aims to respond within 3 working days and is accessed through the website at www.southsomcab.org.uk.

This free and impartial advice covers debt, benefits, housing, employment, consumer issues, relationship problems and much more besides. Clients simply complete the secure online form with the details of their problem and hit send.

The website also has information about South Somerset Citizens Advice Bureau, volunteering opportunities and self-help information from www.adviceguide.org.uk the Citizens Advice public information resource. It also gives the contact details and opening times.
