Romantic dining on Valentine's Day in Yeovil

With Valentine's Day inching ever closer I thought I'd have my say on the nicest places to eat out for romantic couples in and around Yeovil.

Having seen a previous post on the best florists in our local area, I wanted to share with you my favourite restaurants for celebrating that special day on February 14th, so here they are (in no particular order!).

1) The Half Moon, Mudford: The Half Moon has become one of the most popular local eateries over the last couple of years, renowned for their fresh, homecooked food and the warm, traditional interior. Every time I have been there the food has been excellent, it's not cheap but you're not paying for standard pub grub, you're paying for quality (the Chicken & Ham Pie keeps me going back again and again...)

2) Tamburino Gold: Probably the most well known and best-loved restaurant in Yeovil, Tamburino's serves good quality, authentic Italian cuisine in a really nice setting. As anyone who's been there will tell you, the staff go the extra mile with service, even more so on special occasions like birthdays or Valentine's Day. Their wood-fired Pizzas are second to none in our area so book now to avoid disappointment!

3) Little Barwick House: Looking through some of the discussions on here I see that someone has recommended Little Barwick House as a nice venue for Valentine's Day – and I have to agree. I haven't been for a little while but if it's fine dining you're after you can really spoil a loved one here. The restaurant has a fantastic reputation for good, locally sourced food and decent wines all served in an idyllic setting. Like the Half Moon at Mudford, accommodation is available for those that want to go the whole hog.

4) The Green Room: Another fine dining eatery (this time set in Yeovil town centre), The Green room offers top quality food at very affordable prices. This year the chef has devised a special three course romantic menu for Valentine's Day at £42 per person. Bookings are being taken now and I expect the dining room is filling up fast, so get on the blower a.s.a.p!
