A local Housing Association celebrated the official launch of a new and exciting partnership on Monday 10th February, which will help to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their Repairs service.
After a robust procurement process Yarlington Housing Group awarded builders merchant, Buildbase, with a contract to manage the stores function of their business.
Barbara Richardson, Yarlington's Director for Growth & Investment, said 'This opportunity offers significant value for money savings for Yarlington and we are looking forward to working with Buildbase to establish a successful relationship. The benefits that this partnership offers mean we will be able to respond to an increased number of repairs in a day and streamline our supply process.'
Operating out of Yarlington's Property Management stores, Buildbase will offer a 'delivered option' and provide materials directly to the repairs tradesmen at site, saving them the journey to Yeovil to collect supplies. This will provide a significant cost saving to Yarlington and the team will be able to spend more time attending to repairs and property improvements.
With a bigger buying capacity, Buildbase will be able to source stock at competitive prices, and provide valuable analytical data on Yarlington van stock by identifying who is using what and in which area.
Neil Parsons, Buildbase Divisional Director, concluded 'Buildbase are delighted to have been awarded this contract which has also created three new jobs for local people. We have formed a strong partnership with Yarlington and will be working closely with them to provide the best possible service for their residents.'
