New book by local author

Tinsley Collins, a local writer, has just had a new book, The Guru Game, published and it promises to be an entertaining read and at times painfully funny. It turns on the fortunes of Jim a high flying London lawyer who is forced by circumstances beyond his control to move to a very different way of life in Yeovil and he doesn't like it. More to the point, his wife, Beth, has taken her life to the outer reaches of New Age spiritualism and all things Glastonbury which is making his life a misery.
In an attempt to sort out at least some of his problems he enlists the help of his posh and very fat friend George in a plan to change her ways. At first it seems to be going better than he dared hope, but gradually it all starts to go wrong in ways he had not anticipated. In the meantime, everybody's relationships with everybody else seem to be unravelling and reforming in wholly unexpected patterns.
The book is mostly set in the Yeovil area and other very recognisable parts of Somerset, some of which you might start seeing with very different eyes after reading this.
Like Jim, Tinsley moved to Somerset from London some eight odd years ago but unlike him he loves it here and would not consider moving anywhere else. He finds the pace of life conducive to the sort of abstract thought that eventually ends up on the page and evidence of this is apparent from two of his other books which will shortly be available from the same publishers. They show a completely different side of his literary imagination being darker and more spine chilling and will be worth checking out when they become available. Séance is a ghostly love story which turns on a shy book seller discovering the journal of a Victorian woman in fear of her life, and Metamorphosis is an occult thriller set in London and Venice and which he describes as being "Perfumed with dark eroticism!"
The Guru Game is available now both as a traditional paperback or as an e book from both My Green Publisher (www.mygreenpublisher.com), and Amazon(USA), or as an e book from Amazon (UK) and a number of other suppliers listed on the My Green Publisher site. The other two books will be similarly available from the same outlets later this year.
Tinsley is in the process of completing a fourth book, a comedy thriller set in legal London which should be published some time next year.
