Knocking off after 44 years

In the days when man first set foot on the moon and Concorde took her maiden flight, a young Sue Adams was starting work in Chard.
Sue Adams Retires
Now, almost 44 years later, she says goodbye to her friends and colleagues who have worked with her across the decades, and looks forward to a well-earned retirement enjoying her passions of cookery and gardening.
But Sue, who lives near Chard, won't have much time to herself, as her retirement gift to herself comes in the shape of a four-pawed bundle of mischief in the shape of a Westie pup.
Accepting her gifts from Yarlington Housing Group, Sue looked back on her years serving the residents from her role initially as a Clerical Assistant based with the Chard Corporation, and, following various reorganisations, culminating with her work in the Customer Service Centre at Yarlington's head office in Yeovil.
"Sue has been a dedicated and hardworking member of the team and she will be missed. We all wish Sue the very best for her well-deserved retirement" said her line manager Jody Underhill, a sentiment that was echoed during the lunchtime presentation by Assistant Director Nick Fry.
As she prepared to leave for the final time, Sue thanked all of those she had worked with over the years for their support, and for making her feel part of a family.
