It was a tale of three Johnsons as Wednesday's Jermaine and Reda combined to sink Gary's Yeovil in snowy Sheffield.

As temperatures plummeted in South Yorkshire, Jamaican Jermaine Johnson set pulses racing with a stunning strike to cancel out Jon Obika's opener.

Reda Johnson then swooped to earn the points for the promotion-chasing Owls in one of the few League One games to beat the weather.

Glovers' assistant manager Terry Skiverton said: "Our goalkeeper did not have to make a save in the first half, but their goalkeeper was at full-stretch maybe three or four times.

"We are disappointed to come away with nothing, but it did seem that we were beaten by a bit of cleverness.

"They went down at the right time and they got a lot of free-kicks.

"The referee seemed to give a lot one way and we did not quite deal with their strengths."

Defender Richard Hinds was Yeovil's only change, making his debut at the club he left in the summer in place of suspended Paul Huntington.

With little separating the teams in the opening exchanges, Chris O'Grady gained sight of goal on 14 minutes only for a deflection to take the venom out of his angled shot.

Despite the Owls relying heavily on the long ball, Yeovil were put under more pressure when their hosts passed it.

Jon Otsemobor's neat footwork earned a 20-yard free- kick on 18 minutes, John Bostock landing the ball on the roof of the goal net.

The Glovers' response was almost instant as Dean Parrett chased down a poor clearance, beating Miguel Llera to the second ball.

Having burst into the box, the Tottenham youngster should have shot, but selflessly squared to meet Gavin Williams' slide, only for goalkeeper Stephen Bywater to emerge with the ball.

On 33 minutes, Otsemobor caught Yeovil napping at a free-kick, rolling the ball to Jermaine Johnson on the left.

The Jamaican switched the ball to his right foot, but his effort had insufficient curl to hit the target.

As Wednesday piled on the pressure without providing an end product, the Glovers broke to take an unlikely lead on 41 minutes.

Obika profited from Ryan Dickson's incisive run and pass from left-back to glide a shot beyond Bywater.

Two minutes later, the visitors almost doubled the advantage when Parrett charged down a clearance and crossed into the six-yard box, where Bywater gratefully pounced on Danny Batth's awkward interception attempt.

Having booed-off their team at the interval, the Owls' faithful's frustrations initially continued after the restart when O'Grady wastefully fired wide when receiving a cross.

Substitute Ryan Lowe headed Reda Johnson's cross wide on 53 minutes and, two minutes later, the former Bury man was picked out by fellow replacement Lewis Buxton's ball from right-back, but fired straight at Sam Walker.

Wednesday's dominance told on 57 minutes when Jermaine Johnson – once a trialist at Yeovil under Gary Johnson – lashed home from 25 yards.

Buoyed by the goal, Wednesday continued to pour forward and went close ten minutes later when O'Grady bent a shot beyond the far post with other options available.

Their persistence was rewarded ten minutes from time with the winning goal. The Owls won a deep free-kick into the box, Walker athletically saving the first attempt, but was powerless as Reda Johnson leapt on the loose ball.
