The Milford Adventure Park has an exciting new design.

MIlford Adventure Park will open on Friday 31st August.
The adventure park design has been inspired following consultation with local residents, schools and groups and it will aim to challenge young people with equipment such as lookout towers, a double zip line and a castle themed slide.
Cllr Peter Gubbins, Chair of the Steering Group for Milford Adventure Park said: "The group has worked hard to raise the funding for this inspirational adventure park.
"Key grants from Viridor Credits, South Somerset District Council and Yeovil Town Council alongside other generous donations and support – including the Well Being of Yeovil, Yarlington Housing Group and the Yeovil Recreation Charity - have enabled us to deliver a facility that the local community deserves.
"In addition to all of the new equipment there will also be other improvements including picnic benches, fencing for the toddler play area, planting, improved pathways and a woodland walk area."
The opening of the park will be linked with Milford Village Fete which promises a whole range of free activities including circus skills, skateboarding, football, arts and crafts and even a parade of young people dressed up as knights and princesses.
In a continuation of the adventure theme, Milford Community Association have organised a design a shield competition for local young people. The winner of this competition will have the honour of opening the adventure park on Friday 31st August.
Councillor Sylvia Seal, Portfolio Holder of Leisure and Culture at SSDC said: "The adventure park is really starting to take shape and it's good to see so many of the innovative ideas from the local community incorporated into the park. This can only help local residents feel a sense of ownership towards the adventure park.
"South Somerset District Council, Yeovil Town Council and Milford Community Association are continuing to work closely together to deliver this project which will enhance the local area.
"The project has been an excellent example of partnership working and I look forward to seeing the completed adventure park."
Cllr Alan Smith, who chairs the Town Council's Grounds and General Maintenance Committee added: "It is wonderful to see yet another play area in the Town upgraded in line with the wishes of local people.
"By working in partnership, we have ensured that Milford Park has a wide range of up-to-date play facilities that meet the needs of local young people and will last for years to come."
