Could you benefit from a bit of rough and tumble in the name of keeping fit?
The 'Boxercise Circuits' scheme is considerably cheaper than most other exercise classes as it has been heavily subsidised by the Community £'s project.
Community £'s is a partnership between Milford Community Association, the district council and NHS Somerset.
Charlie Coward, Healthy Lifestyles Officer at SSDC explains: "Community £'s is an initiative which encourages residents in Yeovil to sign up to lose weight and, in turn, raise money for healthy lifestyle projects in the community of Milford.
"Through the project we have already set up low cost Zumba Gold and Ballroom Dancing Classes. Boxercise Circuits works your upper and lower body and is an ideal way to lose weight and get fit. The class is suitable for everyone – including people who are new to exercise."
Classes will run for 24 weeks and take place every Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Milford Hall, Yeovil. As a result of the subsidy, classes will cost just £1 and are open to everyone.
For more information, or to book a place, contact the instructor Craig Hardaker on 07791 308773.
Cllr Sylvia Seal, Leisure and Culture portfolio holder at SSDC adds: "We appreciate that in these difficult times keeping fit and healthy is not easy to afford. The Community £'s funding enables us to set up more, easily affordable exercise opportunities for the community in and around Milford."
