Arson suspected after crews extinguish Yeovil car fire

A vehicle in Yeovil is believed to have been deliberately set alight early this morning.
At around 2.15am fire crews were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Hoopers Lane in Stoford, Yeovil.
Fire fighters arrived to find a vehicle "well alight" in a gateway to a field and got to work extinguishing the fire.
Police were also called out to investigate the cause of the fire. Arson is suspected.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Upon arrival crews confirmed one vehicle in gateway to field to be well alight and set to work to extinguish the fire using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
"The police were also in attendance, the cause is believed to be deliberate."
